Lena Chow, RDA
Lena has worked as a Registered Dental Assistant
since 1979, and she’s been a member of our
staff since 1991. A native of San Francisco, Lena
grew up in the North Beach area. She earned two
degrees from local schools – a BA in Health
Education from San Francisco State University,
and an AS in Dental Assisting from City College.
A married mother of two, Lena enjoys movies, fine
restaurants and vacation travel.

Mayona
Engdahl, RDA
Mayona has served our patients as a treatment
coordinator since 1995. Two decades ago, she became
a Registered Dental Assistant after completing
a two-year degree program at Santa Rosa Junior
College. Since then, she’s developed professional
expertise in general dentistry and all dental
specialties.
Originally from New York, Mayona attended art school
at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. For
several years before entering dentistry, she studied
costume design, and worked in regional theater.
She enjoys swimming, drawing, sewing and creating
collages.

Margie
Escobar, RDA
A Registered Dental Assistant who grew up north
of Seattle, Margie began working as an orthodontic
specialist in 1982. She moved to San Francisco
in 1989, and joined our practice in 1990. You
can always expect a warm, friendly smile from
her when you visit us.
Margie lives in San Francisco with her husband,
daughter and their cat, Leo. Their family enjoys
weekend camping trips to the beach.

Heather
Estaban, Front Desk Coordinator
Heather is our Front Desk Coordinator. She’ll
help you schedule appointments throughout the
course of your treatment. Before joining our practice
in 1993, Heather worked in the orthodontic field
for 14 years.
Born in Honolulu, Heather grew up in San Francisco,
where she developed a passion for dance. After
performing professionally throughout the Bay Area
for years, Heather now teaches dance to adults
in the evening.
In her spare time, you'll find her at used bookstores,
blissfully rummaging for additions to her collection
of children's and dance books. She also enjoys frequent
walking adventures with her dog.

Ann Kwan,
Financial Coordinator
Ann is our Financial Coordinator. She’s
exceptionally organized, efficient and helpful
– so if you have any questions about your
orthodontic insurance claim or payment options,
don’t hesitate to call her.
A member of our staff since September 1999, Ann
had 7 years of experience in the dental profession
prior to joining us. She grew up in Vancouver, British
Columbia, where she earned a BA in Accounting from
Capilano College.

Yaco Sanchez,
RDA
Yaco is a Registered Dental Assistant who has
worked with us since 2001. A San Francisco native,
Yaco graduated from San Francisco State University,
where she earned certification as an X-Ray Technician.
After more than 10 years of professional dental
and orthodontic experience, Yaco is very familiar
with the Bay Area dental community. In her spare
time, she enjoys life with her daughter Sophia
(an avid swimmer at the age of five), and she
recently started learning how to knit.

Gina Viray,
RDA
Gina joined our staff as a Registered Dental
Assistant in 2003. She has more than three years
of orthodontic and general dentistry experience,
and she loves working with the patients in our
practice. Born and raised in Fairfield, CA, Gina
graduated from Fairfield High School and earned
a Dental Assistant degree. She is married with
a four year old son, and in her spare time she
enjoys snowboarding, shopping and having fun with
her family.
